How to Keep Ramadan Exciting For 30 Days!


The hardest part about Ramadan is that it is 30 days. 30 days is a very long time to keep kids engaged and excited about anything. Decorating our homes is a great way to welcome Ramadan, however after the first week, the excitement dies down.

So how do you keep up the momentum through out the month?

By planning! I prefer to plan out my Ramadan in advance so I can get the most out of the holy month. Throughout the week I use my Ramadan Advent Calendar to allow my daughter to participate in the spirit of Ramadan. However for the weekend I like to plan out special activities. This gives her something to look forward to through out the week.

DIY Ramadan Advent Calendar

You can buy some adorable Ramadan Advent Calendars online (check out my post for some reviews). However, if you are like me, it’s too late too order one or you want to try and make one on your own. Lucky for you, the same post has some great DIY ideas for you to try. And if all fails, there always is pintrest right? For the first time this year, I went ahead and made my own advent calendar. Ramadan is 30 days – that’s a long time to keep a toddler or child excited about anything. Advent calendars successfully keep children excited about Christmas for 25 days, so it’s not surprising that advent calendars are a great way to keep children excited about Ramadan. As a parent, I want my daughter to understand the meaning of Ramadan, not just celebrate it.
